C2M Smart Street Light
Implementing smart light bulbs into street lights can drastically improve a city’s ability to maintain optimum uptime for lighting city streets. For example, a light bulb could send a notification when it is about to go out, nearing the max threshold of hours in use or when it actually does go out. This notification can be sent in form of an SMS to a maintenance crew to go replace the bulb or in form in a work order inside a maintenance ticket management system. The event could also trigger for the warehouse to pull a new bulb from inventory and place onto the maintenance truck. The crew then replaces the bulb shortly after the alert went out that the bulb had failed. Furthermore, data can be collected on how long the bulb was in operation so predictive analysis can be used to predict when other light bulbs may be nearing a faulty stage.
